Nation Revisited

# 85. November 2011

The Tory Right

Liam Fox has resigned as Defence Secretary because of his involvement with Adam Werritty and the shadowy rightwing pressure group Atlantic Bridge. We reported Fox’s membership of this organisation in Nation Revisited No 73 of November 2010.

“Defence Minister Liam Fox has accepted an 8% cut in the defence budget with a loss of 42,000 servicemen and support workers. He takes Hilary Clinton’s warning seriously. He is a founding member of The Atlantic Bridge pressure group and a prominent member of the Conservative Friends of Israel. He supports the Afghan war and has even called for military intervention against Iran He represents the Atlanticist faction that has dominated British politics since WW2.”

William Hague was also a member of Atlantic Bridge before it was closed down by the Charities Commission. It was funded by businessmen like Michael Hintze and dedicated to opposing the European Union and promoting links with Israel and America.

The EU is supposed to be a capitalist racket but its main opponents are the billionaire press barons Rupert Murdoch, Lord Rothermere, Desmond Morris and the Barclay brothers. UKIP was inspired by Sir James Goldsmith’s Referendum Party and the latest high profile Tory eurosceptic is Lord Wolfson who has offered a £250,000 prize for the best suggestion on how to leave the EU.

As Europe fights against recession they are calling for a referendum on Britain’s membership of the EU. The Bank of England, the CBI and the government know the importance of the eurozone but the “fresh start” group has become suicidal. If the euro collapsed it would cause economic chaos in Britain and throughout the world. But instead of supporting moves to defend the single currency the anti-euro kamikazes are trying to destroy it.

Boosted by the apparent success of their bombing campaign in Libya they are now clamoring for war in Iran and Syria. This unholy alliance of globalists, eurosceptics, Zionists and NATO cheerleaders actually believe in the crazy neoconservative foreign policy of “perpetual war for perpetual peace.” But they need a new war to justify massive British and American defence spending and to occupy armed forces facing imminent redundancy in Iraq and Afghanistan.

The Necessary Unity of Europe

By Rumata De Estoria. (The views of guest writers are entirely their own.)

The First and Second World Wars (actually, the two European civil wars) were wars waged against proud nations, sisters and in the same Civilization, because of atavistic hatreds and the evil machinations of certain leaders.

In between, devastating carnages like the Russian Civil War and the Spanish Civil War led brothers to kill each other, and to destroy their own countries. And finally, for what? Europe, the Sacred Continent from Portugal to Russia, from Iceland to Greece, was destroyed, the Great Power status their nations has was lost forever.

The shame of the massacres created a weak and corrupt political and intellectual class, fearful of itself, and the consequences were immediate: Since the 60's in Western Europe and since the 90's in Eastern Europe, tens of millions of immigrants from Africa, Asia and South America began to invade our homes.

With them came a massive increase in crime, the violent imposition of a religion that preaches hatred against Europe, and the plundering of our resources in the form of "help" for the invading population.

More and more millions came year after year, and their high birth and violence threatens to engulf Europe.

The Europeans, stuck in a weak anti-culture that has forgotten the love for their country, which regards morality as ridiculous and outdated, that has lost the will to defend itself and fight, suffer the consequences: The number of rapes of the European natives shoots up to absurd extremes, crime is rampant, cities become dangerous and inhospitable, and becomes a crime even to try to defend your Nation and your family.

All European Nations from England to Russia, from Spain to Norway, from Sweden to Greece, are suffering from this siege. The only logical response is unity, brotherhood among European nations in order to guarantee the survival of any of them.

It’s the European Civilization, the Western one, fruit of the Christian humanism, the Roman values and the Greek philosophers, which is threatened with death, not merely individual nations.

The only way to address this Apocalypse is a union of all “Europes”, as it always should be, and not only to save us from extinction but to return to our rightful place as the World First Power. The task is in our hands.

Long live Europe!

The World Council of Churches

The WCC is seldom heard of today but in the 1970s it was notorious for funding terrorist movements in Southern Africa. It’s an international alliance that provided “humanitarian” aid to African nationalist groups. The Anglicans were half-hearted members and the Catholics refused to take part but the Lutherans and Presbyterians were enthusiastic supporters of the communist-led guerillas fighting against white rule. In September 1978 ZIPRA terrorists shot down an Air Rhodesia Viscount civilian airliner with a Strela missile resulting in 48 fatalities
The following letter was published in Spearhead No 75 dated May 1974. It was from Roger Clare in Wellington, New Zealand.

Sir: The person who points out the intended victim and pays the murderer for carrying out his insidious crime is equally as guilty as the person who actually commits the heinous act. By the same token therefore must the World Council of Churches be considered equally guilty of the acts of terrorism at present being perpetrated in Southern Africa as the terrorists responsible for the acts themselves.

By virtue of the financial assistance to the terrorists gangs, who in an attempt to assume an air of respectability call themselves “freedom fighters” the WCC is paying for murder, rape, arson and other acts of terrorism.

It must be understood that these so-called “liberation” movements are non-elect and are in the main not nationals of the countries they wish to “liberate.” Furthermore their presence is not desired by the populace of these countries, irrespective of race or creed, and any support the so-called liberators may have from the indigenous population is maintained only by the threat of reprisal.

As one who was brought up in the Christian faith I find it hard to reconcile the actions of the WCC, for it is obvious that the hierarchy of this movement have long since ceased to preach Christianity and now preach the virtues of a Godless communist society.

There can be no doubt that many Christians have been duped into supporting the WCC in the belief that they are furthering the ends of Christianity. All we can hope is that these well-intentioned people will soon awaken to the reality of the true purpose of the WCC and realize the deadliness of the poisonous reptile they are nurturing and harbouring in their midst.

So far as Southern Africa is concerned it is obvious that the WCC is not interested in the welfare of the coloured African or in improving his standard of living, but is desirous of destroying the white governments that at present govern the countries and the civilization they uphold.

Bill Barnes

Frederick Charles Cecil Barnes was born on 24th November 1911 and died on 21st April 1981. It’s therefore 100 years since his birth and 30 years since his death. Bill, as he was always known, is still remembered by old members of the National Front and Union Movement. He was a pre war Blackshirt and a personal friend of John Beckett the former Independent Labour Party MP who seized the parliamentary mace in protest at unemployment. After the war he resumed the struggle. He rarely spoke at meetings and his writing was mostly limited to letters but he is still remembered for his bravery, wisdom and encouragement. His advice was often given over a pint or two in the pubs around Westminster. He knew all the leaders of the Radical Right and his opinions were respected. Bill took part in some epic battles and political upheavals during his long political career and he would not be surprised at current events.

He wrote the following article for our predecessor publication Nation # 8 July 1974.

From Camelot to Ridley Road

Has the time come for the National Front to abandon the romantic ritual of marches and rallies? Not completely, perhaps, but the march/rally/demonstration is heady stuff, to be used sparingly.

The romantics among us are stirred by the sight of waving banners, the beat of the drums, the chanting voices and the comradeship; but if we are to get the mass support to which we have a claim we must avoid the appearance of over-aggressiveness, of “trailing our coat-tails” in short of fascism the bogey of British political folk-lore.

Against all odds and to its eternal credit the National Front has made the Radical Right politically credible but still, in the hearts of some of its leaders it is an easy transition from Camelot to Ridley Road – banners, battle-axes, stirring armored knights etc.

Now we are politically credible let us seek to advance by political means. The Conservative, Liberal and Labour parties seldom find it advantageous to hold marches, rallies or anything other than indoor meetings. Should we feature them so frequently we stand the risk of being considered jejune and provocative – a sort of militarized Boy Scout movement with sinister undertones.

The “man in the street” has a fear of party dictatorship. Economic tyranny he is enduring; financial dictatorship he has long endured; but the thought of a party leader as Gauleiter of Greater London moves him to terrified reaction – to the benefit of the liberal democrats.

The Red Lion Square clash completely discredited the Left. Let us refrain from the risk of discrediting the Right.

Marches were once one of the few means of publicity. On the last General Election more and better publicity was achieved by the running of fifty candidates than fifty marches would have produced and. I would guess, with no greater financial strain.

We have a logical, a viable and an inspiring policy. Let us slaughter our opponents at the hustings and in the debating halls!

Diana Mosley

Anne de Courcy is known for her biographies of the Marchioness of Londonderry and the Curzon sisters. Her life of Diana Mosley is in the same mould; debutante balls, country houses and the glittering lifestyle of the pre-war aristocracy. But there was a lot more to Diana than wealth and elegance. She wasn’t just the girl who married Oswald Mosley; she was an intellectual in her own right who cared passionately about social justice and fought to avoid a war with Germany.

She was not only a supporter of the British Union peace campaign but also an admirer of Adolf Hitler who was guest of honour at her wedding. In 1940 she was thrown into a filthy prison cell under the infamous Defence Regulation 18B. Home Secretary Herbert Morrison had hated Oswald Mosley since their Labour Party days and refused to listen to pleas for clemency. But despite her desperate situation she refused to beg for mercy from her distant cousin Winston Churchill. When his name was mentioned to her by a prison officer she expressed the opinion that he should be shot. This information was relayed to Churchill who referred to it years later.

Perhaps it is not surprising that Anne de Courcy is more critical of Oswald Mosley than she is of Diana. Most of the old smears and slanders about him are repeated but for all that the book is well written and informative. It conveys something of the magnetism of a remarkable woman.

The terrible conditions she endured in prison are described in detail. They were all the more cruel and inhuman for being imposed on the innocent mother of a newborn baby who was never charged with any offence. Like her husband and a thousand other Blackshirts she was guilty only of opposing Churchill’s war.

Diana was blacklisted by the media for most of her life but was often interviewed in later years, most famously on the radio programme “Desert Island Discs.” She was asked in 1997 what she thought of the atrocities committed during the war:

“To tell you the truth the horrible atrocities of all the belligerents make me miserable if I allow myself to think about them. I hate cruelty.

The greatest atrocity of all is war itself. Paradoxically, nuclear weapons have given us 50 years of peace. I know there are horrors in Africa and in Palestine, and I know men are wicked. I know too, that we are incredibly lucky to live in France or England and not in Rwanda. Harlem or Mao’s China. I don’t like the prevalent xenophobia in England – at least in the English newspapers – it’s dangerous as well as stupid.”

Diana Mosley by Anne de Courcy was published by Random House in 2003 and is available from Amazon.

Many Shades of Black

John Bean’s political autobiography has been rereleased by Ostara Publications the publishing firm founded by Arthur Kemp. It records his time with Union Movement, his association with AK Chesterton, the founding of his newspaper Combat and his rocky collaboration with Colin Jordan and John Tyndall; les enfants terribles of the far-right.

In October 1964 John Bean standing in the General Election for the original British National Party in Southall received 3,410 votes, 9.2% of the poll. This was the highest vote recorded for any minority candidate since the Thirties. It was the high point in the old BNP’s fortunes.

John Bean wanted to expand and develop the party and seized the chance to amalgamate with the Empire Loyalists and others to form the National Front in 1967. But his social and pro-European policies were dumped. He wrote in Many Shades of Black:

“In the next issue of Combat I pledged my support for the National Front, although I held no executive position at that time I pointed out that: “With the possible exception of the point on the Commonwealth and, in my view, the unfortunate dropping of the BNP proposal of a European Confederation of nation states, NF policy is basically the same as that of the BNP.”

Like all journalists, John Bean glosses over some things and highlights others. But this is a highly readable account of his sincere and genuine attempt to save Britain from finance capitalism and Third World invasion.

The first edition was published in 1999 and ends with the hope that John Tyndall’s BNP will develop into a successful political party:

“…as long as the BNP continues its now more practical approach it has the potential of providing our salvation. Whether it realizes this potential remains to be seen.”

Following Nick Griffin’s seizure of power John Bean joined the contemporary BNP and was soon appointed editor of the party magazine Identity. He stood as a candidate in the 2004 European parliamentary election and loyally backed Nick Griffin even after the Question Time fiasco of 2009. But he lost patience soon after and called upon the chairman to stand down and concentrate on his job as MEP for the North West.

He now supports the Andrew Brons faction and contributes to the BNP Ideas website. He recently posted an article calling for a European Confederation. This has been his consistent policy since the days of the original BNP. It’s a perfectly respectable policy but most of his associates are bitterly opposed to any sort of European commitment, even a confederation of sovereign states. It will be interesting to see how long this heresy will be tolerated by the reactionaries in both factions of the party.

Policies and Personalities

John Bean has posted his policy proposals on the dissident BNP Ideas website and they have been accepted by the Andrew Brons caucus. He is calling for Europe to be united as a confederation of nation states. You might think that is exactly what we have at the moment but most BNP members have been against the EU for so long that have convinced themselves that a loose collection of countries is really a monolithic state.

At their Leicestershire conference the BNP dissidents decided not to form a separate party but to wait for Nick Griffin to be arrested, or struck by lightning. His party is deeply in debt but they are unlikely to get a bail out from the European Bank.

Fuhrers are out of fashion but a charismatic leader is needed to unite the warring factions with a modern policy. Nick Griffin showed great promise when he ousted John Tyndall and captured two European seats but he seems to have become unhinged. Andrew Brons is exactly what he looks like – a retired lecturer. Most of the leading lights of both factions are too old and none of them are inspiring.

The leaders of the established parties are all in their early forties; Dave Cameron is 45, Ed Miliband is 42 and Nick Clegg is 44. All of them are presentable and intelligent men with style and confidence. If the BNP want to compete they need to produce someone with similar qualities. Neurotic and obsessive types need not apply.

The Tories are cursed with their eurosceptic “bastard faction,” the Libdems are divided over economic policy and the Labour Party are having trouble adjusting to life without Tony Blair. But they do not split over differences of opinion. All parties are coalitions of left and right held together by common interest. Only the BNP spawns a breakaway movement every time they have an internal dispute.

The BNP polled half a million votes in the last general election but they lack a credible leader who can perform in front of the cameras and some of their policies are bizarre; like their plans to build prison camps in Antarctica.

Political parties are entitled to their policies but most of them will be dictated by our proximity to the mainland. France generates 80% of her electricity by nuclear power and we are connected to the French grid. Belarus is the only country in Europe with capital punishment and they will have to drop it join the EU. All the major European states have turned against non-European immigration and we will follow suit. And even if we stay outside the eurozone we will inevitably harmonize our fiscal policies.

All shades of opinion should be represented and the British people have got every right to support the BNP or any party that appeals to them. There’s no point in imposing democracy on Iraq, Afghanistan and Libya if we do not practice it at home.

The End of Gaddafi

After nine months of fighting and NATO airstrikes Muammar Gaddafi has finally been shot dead by rebel forces.  He was executed in the name of democracy without going through a show trial like Saddam Hussein. He was no stranger to violence but his murder shows that his enemies are no better than he was.

The pattern of Western governments deposing despots has become the norm. NATO has intervened in Serbia, Iraq, Afghanistan and now Libya. Syria and Iran are undoubtedly on the hit list but unlike their predecessors they have reasonably efficient defence forces. North Korea is probably the world’s cruelest dictatorship but they have avoided NATO interference by possessing nuclear weapons.

In the UK two million people marched against the war in Iraq but the government of the day was unimpressed. Our masters want to impose democracy on others but they have no time for it at home. They are actually contemptuous of public opinion and they only shout populist slogans at election time. Then you hear “British jobs for British Workers” and “Tough on crime: tough on the causes of crime.” At all other times they ignore an electorate that’s stupefied with propaganda and misinformation.

We all know about Gaddafi’s involvement with the IRA, the Lockerby air disaster and the killing of PC Fletcher. None of these things can possibly be justified and many people think that he deserved his fate. Gaddafi was no friend to the West but he did use Libya’s vast oil wealth to give his people the highest standard of living in Africa. His regime provided free education, health care, subsidized housing and fuel at cost price. But he made the fatal mistake of trusting Tony Blair and following their famous meeting in the desert things started to go wrong. At least Gaddafi survived longer in office than his military opponent Liam Fox.

Libya was almost unique amongst the nations of the world in having no national debt. But that happy situation will soon change as Western bankers take charge of the oil revenues and start lending the new Libyan government money to rebuild their shattered infrastructure. The British in India levied taxes on the local population to pay for their oppression. And the Chinese Communists charged the relatives of executed prisoners for the bullets used to kill them. Now we will continue the tradition by enslaving the Libyans in debts incurred as a result of nine months of bombing.

All of this you must understand is part of our ethical foreign policy. Our government stays silent over genocide in Palestine and slavery in Saudi Arabia but gets very indignant when a known criminal of Iranian origin is alleged to have hired the Mexican Mafia to blow up a hotel containing the Saudi Ambassador to the USA. At least he tried to but he was actually dealing with an FBI agent wearing a Zapata moustache. Ian Fleming would have written a more convincing story.

Nation Revisited

An occasional email to friends. # 22. February 2007

Reasons to be Cheerful

Tony Blair sends the British Army to help the American occupation of Iraq and Afghanistan with the support of the gutless Tories. Third world immigrants pour into Europe and everywhere the white birthrate is falling. Our kids are out of control and their politically correct schoolteachers encourage them to embrace alien lifestyles. Not much joy there, but there are clear signs of an end to the liberal-democratic nightmare.

Patriotic parties in the Euro parliament have now formed a coalition under the leadership of French MEP Bruno Gollnisch. The Identity, Tradition and Sovereignty group have 20 members from 7 states and will qualify for generous European Union funding. They consists of the Front National of France, the FPO of Austria, Vlaams Belang of Belgium, PRM of Romania, National Union (Attack) of Bulgaria, Alessandra Mussolini’s Alternativa Sociale and Fiamma Tricolore of Italy and former UKIP representative Ashley Mote of the UK.

Bruno Gollnisch - who was recently convicted of Holocaust denial - stated the ITS position: “Europe needs a new policy aimed at reversing the migration flows of immigrants from outside Europe.” This goes significantly further than simply stopping non-European immigration and goes against the whole gospel of multiculturalism. Some delegates like Ashley Mote are little more than disgruntled Tories but by coming together they have made the first tentative steps towards European solidarity.

Washington is rushing reinforcements to Iraq but it will probably make no difference. In Afghanistan the situation goes from bad to worse and it is clear that the Taliban enjoys the support of the population. If America, or Israel, attacks Iran they can look forward to a long and deadly war with little hope of victory. The idea that the Iranians are a subjected people waiting to be liberated is nothing but propaganda. The Americans have alienated most of the world by the undisciplined behavior of their forces and the brutal and inhuman conditions of their military prisons.

As America discoverers the cost of imperialism Europe consolidates her position as the world’s most successful trading block. Our standard of living continues to rise and the Euro is fast replacing the Dollar as the international reserve currency. The reactionary Right has been proven wrong, we have not forsaken our nationality by belonging to Europe; the Germans are still German, the French are still French and we are still British. We have not been bitten by rabid dogs running through the channel tunnel or forced to eat salami for breakfast. A new European consciousness is emerging that will save our race and nation from being overwhelmed by politically correct American capitalism.
These are all good reasons to be cheerful.

Our Partisan Police

The sinister manoeuvrings of the Labour Party continue to undermine British democracy. Now plans are afoot to give the police powers to control suspects by denying them the use of a phone or forbidding them from associating with friends and neighbours. These measures are necessary we are told to fight terrorism and crime, but we suspect that once the police are given such powers they will immediately abuse them by intimidating anyone who they imagine to be an enemy of the state.

Keen officers fresh from political indoctrination at Hendon Police College will be looking for enemies of the state. These could be committed Christians wearing crucifixes – clearly insulting behaviour in our multi faith society. Or they could be Muslims who have attended the same Mosque as an extremist. Members of nationalistic parties are clearly enemies of the state because they want to stop immigration – the fundamental motive of modern liberalism.

The full range of enemies of the state includes everyone who does not actively support the Labour Party policy of undermining Britain as a European nation. Right-wingers are automatically suspect because they dare to oppose immigration and Left-wingers are suspect because they are against American wars. People who specifically oppose non-European immigration and call for Britain to quit NATO are doubly suspect and liable to be arrested on site by our partisan police force.

Promotion in the police is linked to political correctness and only the most zealous enforcers of government policy can expect to advance their careers. It used to be thought that all senior officers were Freemasons, but today it is necessary for them to be active supporters of the multicultural state. Any policeman who does not satisfy his political superiors that he is a supporter of the regime will be sidelined or dismissed. Those who frequent anti-fascist rallies and immigrant gatherings will go straight to the top.

The politicization of the police did not start with this government. Margaret Thatcher used the police to smash the Miners’ Strike of 1984-85. The very same cops who stood and watched as Brixton burned in the immigrant riots of 1981 used maximum violence against British workers trying to defend their industry. With deliberate mischief the Tories used London policemen in Sheffield and Nottingham and gave them carte blanche to use terror tactics. And when Arthur Scargill suggested that Thatcher wanted to close down the coal industry he was dismissed as a troublemaker.

We are told that the perception of rising crime is an illusion. The police regularly publish figures to show that crime if falling and they reject any suggestion that they are massaging the figures to support their highly political initiatives. But people know that crime is spiraling out of control. They have been robbed or threatened or they know someone who has. It may be that less crime is reported because there is little point in reporting it to a police force that has given up law and order and has lost the respect of the general public.

Britain and America

Since the collapse of the Soviet Union the United States has become a global empire with military bases in every continent and a colossal navy to impose its will on every nation.
Considerations of legality are not part of American thinking. After 9-11 George Bush issued the following statement: “To forestall or prevent hostile acts by our adversaries the United States will, if necessary, act pre-emptively. The United States cannot remain idle while dangers gather.” Note that America will decide what constitutes a hostile act or a potential threat. The President went on: “If we wait for threats to fully materialize, we will have waited too long.”

To enforce her global authority America has divided the world into military commands, as described in the official website American Military Bases Around the World: “US European Command, in Stuttgart-Valhingen, Germany, is responsible for 13 million square miles in 89 countries and territories. This area of responsibility begins at the North Cape of Norway and extends through the Baltic and Mediterranean Seas, through most of Europe and parts of the Middle East, to the Cape of Good Hope in South Africa. The Command’s mission is to support and advance American interests and policies throughout the region and to provide combat-ready land, maritime and air forces to Allied Command Europe or to US Unified Command.”

This is a clear statement of intent; it’s not necessary to read between the lines or subscribe to conspiracy theories to understand that America is determined to dominate the world and will not tolerate any opposition.

This position is approved by the established political parties of the UK and even by the far right. UKIP talks a lot about national independence but they go on to say: “Since NATO has served Britain well in the past, we shall continue this alliance….” The BNP would withdraw from NATO but they would keep American bases in the UK because:
“We still need the USA as a counterweight against a European super state.”

Such parties are really Atlanticists rather than nationalists. They associate English-speaking America with all the benefits of capitalism and they are prepared to trade their independence for the comfort and security that America appears to offer. This is a perfectly respectable opinion that is widely held but it would be more honest of them to campaign as Atlantic federalists rather than to masquerade as British nationalists.

But not everyone is happy to be part of the American Empire. All over the world people who value their own traditions, languages and cultures are motivated every time that America bombs or threatens another country. The old divisions of left and right are obsolete but the world is still divided between those who cherish their race and nation and those who do not. We must decide between the comfortable oblivion of American capitalism or our own social and political order in Europe. Those who imagine that there is a third choice are sadly deluded. British independence died on the fields of Flanders during the first of two disastrous internecine wars.

Taking Politicians Seriously

There have been many changes over the years that have not been an improvement but at least we have lost the habit of automatically taking politicians seriously. Today most people rank politicians along with estate agents and snake oil salesmen but in the Fifties they thought that they were officers and gentlemen. The early TV presenter MacDonald Hobley may have started the ball rolling when he introduced the first party political telecast by announcing “Sir Stifford Craps.”

Since then the reputations of politicians have been exposed to an ever-curious public. We have learned about their sexual and financial antics with interest. We have marveled at the personal stupidity of men and women who legislate over us, take us to war and steal most of our money in taxation. We have listened to lectures by John Major about “family values” when he was screwing Edwina Currie, and now we have the warmonger Tony Blair trying to convince us that he did the right thing by killing thousands of innocent civilians in Serbia, Iraq and Afghanistan.

An unbroken succession of liars, drunks, adulterers, drug-addicts, hypocrites and moral imbeciles has occupied the highest offices of state. It is hardly surprising that they have legalized every form of human folly from casinos to pubs open all hours. As the churches have declined people have looked in vain for moral guidance from our members of parliament. But they are for the most part completely amoral and motivated by greed and lust in equal measure. Apart from a few noble exceptions our MPs have set new standards of low-life behaviour. Our Lord socialized with publicans and sinners but this lot would have tested his patience.

Politicians argue that because they are of the people they are therefore subject to all the usual human frailties. But the common people are not paid out of the public purse and they do not preach and pontificate about manners and morals. Those who enjoy the immense privileges of public office should set an example and when they are caught out they should be dealt with much more severely than ordinary mortals. A statutory death sentence for breaching the parliamentary code of conduct might concentrate their minds.

They could hardly object to the death penalty when so few of them raised a serious objection to the hanging of Saddam Hussein. Tessa Jowell said that Saddam had been “held to account,” a strange statement from a woman who claims not to understand accounts. In the modern manner parliamentary executions could be recorded on camera and people could download video clips of their elected representatives dangling from a noose. This would be democracy in action for the first time since the French Revolution.

This reform may be some time away; for the present we must content ourselves with exposing all their dirty tricks. This is the age of communications and it is much harder for the Establishment to control information or cover up scandals. Recent investigations by the police will hopefully go right to the black heart of the Labour regime. Those who have broken the law may find that they cannot lie and bribe their way out of trouble.

Views on the News

Left-wing teachers are describing the British as mongrels because they are sprung from different tribes from mainland Europe. They neglect to mention that most of these tribes were related and that all of them were white. It is only supporters of multiculturalism that have trouble telling a Nigerian from an Englishmen, everyone else knows the difference between black and white. Europeans are essentially the same people and there is even a national look to some of them. In our own islands it is often possible to tell an Irishman, a Scot or a Welshman by a certain indefinable look – the product of centuries of selective breeding. The English and the Scandinavians are closely related but one can usually tell an Englishman from a Swede or Norwegian. The race-mixers will not succeed in this wicked plan to confuse and disorientate our children.

The row about children being adopted by same sex couples has put Tony Blair on the spot. He is a practicing Christian who claims that God told him to invade Iraq and Afghanistan. He has also gone to great lengths to explain to Muslims that there is nothing personal about slaughtering thousands of their coreligionists. His deep friendship and respect for Judaism is well documented. How embarrassing then when the leaders of the Roman Catholic, Anglican, Muslim and Jewish faiths are all implacably opposed to his plans to grant adoption rights to homosexuals. Will he defy the united front of organized religion or be true to the atheistic Marxism of militant Labour? Changes to the adoption laws have got more to do with obsessive political conformity than any concern for children or prospective parents.

In just five years the Euro has eclipsed the American Dollar in value and is competing with it as the world’s reserve currency. When it was launched the Jeremiahs predicted failure and hardly a week went past without “The Daily Mail” or “The Telegraph” running stories about its imminent collapse and a return to national currencies. But instead of collapsing the Euro has flourished and is now a solid currency with a waiting list of countries wanting to join the club. The euro-bashers were wrong about the Euro, they were wrong about us losing our identity and they were wrong to cling to America and turn their backs on Europe. The anti-European movement from Jimmy Goldsmith to Nigel Farage has wasted millions of pounds but has completely failed to appeal to the British public

The television show Big Brother has caused an international incident between Britain and India over the allegedly racist treatment of the Indian actress Shilpa Shetty by the mixed-race TV performer Jade Goody. Gordon brown was given a hard time when he visited India and questions have been asked in Parliament. Every newspaper has carried the story and pundits have debated the matter with deadly seriousness. This is the unbelievable level of triviality that typifies our mass media. As the police get closer to the cash for honours affair and George Bush faces total humiliation from Congress, our papers are concentrating on a spat between showgirls. If George Bush is carried away screaming to the madhouse and Tony Blair is sent down for bribery and corruption, look out for another outbreak of pointless trivia from the press.
