Nation Revisited # 123 January 2017

Almost Forgotten Genius: Rider Haggard by Ian Buckley
Originally published in Spearhead - spearhead.co.uk

Though a vastly popular writer at one time, Henry Rider Haggard is now more or less ignored. Even King Solomon's Mines, Allan Quatermain and She have almost disappeared from the bookshops and libraries, to say nothing of the writer's forty odd other books, most of which have been out of print for decades.

This neglect of Haggard is no accident, but rather reflects a considered policy of the poisonous cult of political correctness. His stories always celebrate the virtues of honour, nobility, loyalty and courage, and so are at odds with the shabby modern world, whose only real God is money. Rider Haggard saw the beginnings of this distasteful trend and, as he says towards the end of Allan Quatermain (1887):

"Well it is not a good world - nobody can say that it is, save those who wilfully blind themselves to facts. How can a world be good in which Money  is the moving power, and self-interest the guiding star? The wonder is not that it is so bad, but there should be any good left in it."

Or again, in Allan Quatermain, we find the following pithy and wise comment:

"For instance the law of England is much more severe upon offences against property than against the person, as becomes a people whose ruling passion is money. A man may half-kick his wife to death or inflict horrible sufferings upon his children at a much cheaper rate of punishment than he can compound for the theft of a pair of old boots."

Surely in his own sub-creational world, the dashing Allan Quatermain has more reality about him than does the ludicrous figure of the Prime Deciever, Mr Tony Blair!

Henry Rider Haggard was born in 1856 at West Bradenham, Norfolk, the son of the local squire. The youngest of eight children, he was a slow developer and was originally viewed as the family dunce. Today, ambitious young people face continually diminishing horizons, but fortunately for Haggard there were many opportunities then available in Africa.

Like his close friend, Rudyard Kipling, Rider Haggard played an active part in building the British Empire. As private secretary to Commissioner Shepstone, he was one of the party that annexes the Transvaal in 1887. Again like Kipling, he was a keen defender of British imperial expansion, but also had some sympathy to spare for those displaced by the process. For, in the final analysis was it the British Empire that advanced into the Zulu homeland... or the Rothschild Empire, seeking gold and diamonds and - more important - the raw power that these precious commodities represented?

Another reason for Haggard's present-day unpopularity can be found in his Private Diaries published in 1980. These diaries reveal him to be an unabashed conspiracy theorist. Those who hold up their hands in horror at this should reflect that Rider Haggard only came to these particular views after long and careful reflexion, just as was the case with another famous author and administrator, John Buchan. Are such men, with wide experience of the world of public service, likely to have been completely wrong? My own view is that, in matters of great national  and international importance, there should never be any forbidden areas of discussion. If any taboo subjects exist, then logically one should become more suspicious on encountering them, while always taking care not to descend into gibbering paranoia.

In any case, Rider Haggard's opinions on what happened in South Africa towards the end of the nineteenth century have now been mostly confirmed by a mainstream book, The Randlords, by Geoffrey Wheatcroft.

Haggard's first major literary success, King Solomon's Mines, was written as the result of a bet that he made that he could produce an adventure story as good as Stevenson's Treasure Island. As with most of Haggard's later books, King Solomon's Mines is a blend of carefully observed realism and wild flights of imagination.

Haggard's interest in the esoteric and supernatural came to the fore in She, a story of the undying Ayesha, ruler of the lost kingdom of Kor. She, with its blend of mysticism and carefully sketched archeological background, was appreciated by no lesser figure than Carl Jung. Rider Haggard's She can be understood and appreciated on many different levels - as is the true mark of a great writer. The following quote illustrates this:

"The religions come and the religions pass, and the civilisations come and pass, and naught endures but the world and human nature. Ah! If man would but see that hope is from within and not from without - that he himself must work out his own salvation."

The rest of Haggard's many books cover so many different genres - historical fiction, fantasy and adventure, for instance - that it is quite difficult to single out specific works. A good introduction to his historical fiction would be The Wanderer's Necklace, which tells the tale of the Norseman Olaf, who became captain of the Varangian guard at Constantinople:

"Instantly from three hundred throats, above the sound of running feet that drew ever nearer, came the answering shout of "Valhalla, Valhalla! Victory or Valhalla!" Then out of the gloom up dashed the Northmen."

Eric Brighteyes, written some 25 years before The Wanderer's Necklace, also explores the ancient Northern world, and is perhaps the best modern work written in the form of an Icelandic saga.

"When Eric left her, Gudruda drew yet nearer to the edge of the mighty falls, and seated herself on the very brink. Her breast was full of joy, and there she sat let the splendour of the night and the greatness of the rushing sounds sink into her heart. Yonder shore the setting sun, poised, as it were, on Westman's distant peaks, and here sped the waters, and by that path Eric had come back to her."

The twenty odd books ans short stories devoted to the exploits of Allan Quatermain are also worthy of attention. Though some might (wrongly) view these adventure stories as juvenile, they are at the very least a welcome antidote to the electronic cesspit of television.

After his return from Africa, Haggard became an expert on the land, agriculture and rural poverty. His non-fiction books such as The Land and the Poor and A Farmer's Year based on extensive research and travelling, deal with problems such as rural depopulation. Haggard was one of the few men of influence who expressed sympathy and concern for the rural poor, a fact which should not be forgotten. It was for this work that Rider Haggard was knighted in 1912. His autobiography, The Days of My Life, published in 1926, just after his death.

Complete editions of most of Rider Haggard's books can be found online - including some hard-to-find out-of-print works - at http://onlinebooks.library.upenn.edu/ and http://www.blackmask.com/

Economic Reasons

Coal was not phased out in Britain because of concerns about pollution and global warming. Those issues were
discussed at the time but the real reason was that coal miners were the highest paid industrial workers in the country and gas was cheap and plentiful.

We were taught that the British Empire abolished slavery in 1833 out of Christian charity. But the white working class worked for such low wages that they were actually cheaper to employ than slaves that had to be shipped from Africa and fed. Mechanisation and poverty were the real liberators.

When Idi Amin expelled the Uganda Asians in 1972 prime minister Ted Heath was reluctant to accept them as refugees, until he realised that they included doctors, dentists opticians, and accountants. We were desperately short of professional people at the time and the Uganda Asians helped to fill job vacancies. His actions have been lauded by liberals and condemned by conservatives but they were simply expedient.

Margaret Thatcher was critical of the Maastricht Treaty in 1992 but she was originally a pro-European. As a shopkeeper's daughter she knew the value of money. Our
affinity to Europe is based on blood and culture but it has always been dictated by economics. We are an offshore island separated from half a billion people by 30km of sea. Isolation does not make sense.

A National Revolution

Those of us who believe in European unity but are opposed to Third World immigration and unrestrained capitalism are effectively disenfranchised. The Labour Party is weak and divided. The Conservatives are dominated by right wing reactionaries like Boris Johnson and Liam Fox. The Liberal Democrats are sound on Europe but weak on almost everything else. The Greens want to save the planet but they are not interested in European civilisation. Ukip are petty nationalists and so are the little parties of the far-right.

We are still suffering from the global financial crisis of 2008. Unless we find a way to revive the economy our insurance companies and pension funds will not be able cope with near zero interest rates and the government will not be able to sell bonds. We are a low wage economy with a desperate housing shortage and a failing National Health Service. The British public have reacted to austerity by voting to quit the EU but that will only make things worse.

The world has largely benefited from global capitalism. Nearly everything is cheaper and people have been able to work and study wherever they want to. But the downside is that manufacturing industry has declined in Europe and North America to the point where people are not earning enough money to afford the cheap goods available.

This crisis of capitalism will eventually lead to the breakdown of the global system predicted by Oswald Mosley. When the lights go out, the supermarket shelves are empty, and our credit cards stop working, even the well-behaved British will be driven to revolution. Several times we have come close to economic collapse. In 1944 it was the Bretton Woods Agreement that saved us from bankruptcy, in 1976 it was an emergency loan from the IMF, and in 2008 we lent ourselves the money by Quantitative Easing; a practice made respectable by the Japanese. But our national luck will not last forever and when it runs out anything will be possible.

Harold Soref

Last month marked one hundred years since the birth of Harold Soref. He was born in Hampstead on December 18 1916 and died in London in 1993.

Most Jews of his generation supported the Labour Party but he was proud to be British and acted as a standard bearer at Oswald Mosley's great BUF rally at Olympia in 1934.

He was educated at St Pauls' School, Hammersmith and at Queen's College, Oxford. His father had been a pioneer in Rhodesia and the young Harold specialised in colonial studies. In 1937 he was sent to the All-British African Congress in Bulawayo to set up the African Defence Federation.

He served in the Royal Scots' Regiment and the Intelligence Corps during WW2 and worked as a freelance journalist until elected as Conservative MP for Ormskirk in 1970. He lost his seat in 1974 to Robert Kilroy-Silk of the Labour Party.

He was a founder member of the Anglo-Rhodesia Society, a prominent member of the Monday Club and a fearless defender of South Africa. He was frequently attacked by left wing thugs but he campaigned tirelessly against terrorism, pornography and declining standards. In 1965 he wrote The Puppeteers, with Ian Greig, which exposed the organisations and individuals behind the anti-South African campaign. In 1964 the Williamses, a coloured (mixed race) family from Capetown, were brought to England by Christian Action. The Guardian reported that they had suffered no persecution and that apartheid was not the reason for their leaving. But the usual suspects made themselves busy: "Mrs Judith Hart, the Labour MP for Lanark and Vice Chairman of the Movement for Colonial Freedom, raised the matter in the House of Commons and later led a deputation to see Selwyn Lloyd."

Albert Friedlander wrote in The Independent: "There was a total consistency in all that he did and, while he did listen to others, he rarely changed his point of view. He was clear, lucid, bitter, and out of step with the world."

The Israelis commemorate Righteous Gentiles that have served their cause. If we had a similar memorial to Righteous Jews that had served Britain Harold Soref would certainly
have an honoured place.

Racism and Nationalism

Racism originally meant a dislike of other races but it has come to include different nationalities. Hostility towards the Irish, Poles, and Romanians is regarded as racism and some people are so anti-American that they can only be described as racists.

All of the great religions proscribe racism and inciting racial hatred is illegal in most of the world. But despite a century of racial equality in Brazil the whites are still at the top of society, the blacks are in the middle and the Amerindians are at the bottom. Similar arrangements apply throughout Latin America.

The Hindu caste system is known as Varna by the Indians. The word caste is from the Portuguese "casta" which means "race." Discrimination has been illegal since independence but it still dominates Indian society, with the fair-skinned Brahmins at the top and the dark-skinned Dalits at the bottom.

Race is intertwined with class and income. A rich black man in the USA is better off than a poor white man but he might still be the victim of discrimination. It is also mixed up with culture. The Pieds-Noirs in French Algeria were poor whites of Mediterranean stock but they were Europeans and the Algerians were Arabs. There was little racial difference between them but the cultural division was decisive. Over a million Pieds-Noirs fled to France after Algerian independence in 1962.

There was even less to distinguish Slavs from Germans but the Nazis thought that there was. Adolf Hitler was so convinced of the inferiority of the Russians that he refused to take the Red Army seriously until it stormed the gates of Berlin. His racial theories led him to believe that they would not be able to fight a modern war, and in pursuit of this nonsense he destroyed most of Europe.

Nationalism is not necessarily racial. America is a multi-racial country united by "American Exceptionalism," and civic nationalism is promoted by Ukip who are putting up non-white candidates and restricting their hate campaign to European immigrants.

We have the technology to feed all the people in the world but we also have the power to destroy them. Pakistan, India, China, North Korea, and Israel have atomic weapons and Japan, South Korea, and Iran have nuclear programs. The United States has enough nuclear warheads to destroy the planet; the NATO countries, including Turkey, have access to nuclear weapons, and Britain and France have their own nuclear arsenals. With so much firepower at our disposal we should avoid sabre-rattling.

Overproduction and mass migration are the hallmarks of global capitalism. An equitable distribution of land and resources would require a new world order based on geopolitical self-sufficiency.

Ideas and Suggestions

John Bean writes: In your latest Nation Revisited you state that a conspiracy theory surrounds the Frankfurt School "that appeals to a deluded minority. But the majority of people put it in the same category as flying saucers of the Loch Ness Monster." I believe that such a comment belittles your knowledge (which normally I respect) and the reliability of your NR blog. Just look at some of the numerous pages on the Frankfurt School's history to the present day which appears on: A. Wikipedia, Frankfurt School of Social Theory and Philosophy. B. Marxist Internal Archive.

You will note that I do not recommend any of the so-called 'evidence' on this subject prepared by the anti-Jewish sector of the Far-Right. Although many of the followers past and present were/are Jewish, so were many of the intellectual followers of Marxism. Today, many, but not all, of such followers have been replaced by the 'uni-trained' sons and daughters of the bourgeoisie. In essence this is why some of us are concerned with the existing influence of the Frankfurt School of social theory thought

.

Michael Woodbridge writes: Thanks again for a jolly, thought provoking read. Without writing a blog myself I couldn't do justice to every point you made.

My fundamental reply to your theme is that the EU as an institution has long since ceased to serve the European interest because it has made economic interests paramount, whilst ignoring the cultural and especially the biological concerns of the European people.  It has thus aligned itself with our most vicious enemy, the cosmopolitan "liberal elite."

To restore Mosley's original vision of 'Europe a Nation' I believe you'll have to champion the racial factor of our people, united as blood relatives.

David Myatt

Last month we reported that David Myatt was dead but he's alive and to prove it he posted his latest poem The Leaves are Showering Down on his blog on November 5th. http://www.davidmyatt.info/

Whilst researching his premature obituary I came across the following piece from Nationalist Week.

David Myatt is well known to the editor of this bulletin who has had occasion to expel him in the past from a Leeds-based group because of his black magic rantings - we kid you not! Now he has written to Nick Griffin urging him to study Islam. Here is the beginning of his letter to Griffin which he signes Abdul-Aziz. An open letter to Nick Griffin of the BNP which ends with a Koranic quote and the following words:

"I know from my own experiences that Islam produces - has produced and can produce - honourable individuals and an honourable society: that it is a guide to living in a noble, civilized way...I invite you to accept Islam: to discover Islam, to learn about it. For surely, the honourable thing to do in this matter is for you to so learn, to gain some first-hand experience of Islam itself?"

The recent horrific deaths of the two Americans in Iraq, which were grotesque and sickening, shows how some of the tenets of militant Islam can be twisted. Islam is a religion, which can if viewed from a fundamentalist point be very dangerous indeed. Why have we reproduced this? Because it shows that although 99% of British Nationalists are for the most part pretty sound people - there are complete loonies like Myatt around. Avoid him and his kind like the plague. Eddie Morrison 2004.

The Danger of Dogma

One reason why Adolf Hitler lost the war was that he put his National Socialist ideology before military strategy. He never had a serious plan for the invasion of Britain because he was convinced that the Nordic blood of the British would stop us from going to war with Germany. He invaded Russia with three million men expecting the 'inferior' Slavs to flee before his conquering armies. And when the Americans entered the war he dismissed them as being half Negro and half Jewish. He took over a broken and demoralised nation and turned it into a world power but the fatal flaw of dogmatic racism
reduced Germany and most of Europe to ruins.

After a famine in the fifties Mao Zedong ordered that every region of China should maintain stocks of rice to tide them over in times of shortage. He appointed inspectors to make it happen but in order to meet their targets they confiscated the harvest. The result was that people were starving when warehouses under armed guard were full of rice; another case of dogma gone wrong.

Margaret Thatcher's laissez faire policies were popular but

they destroyed much of British industry and her easing of banking controls went too far. Surrounded, as she was, by  sycophants she became convinced of her own infallibility and having won her battles with General Galtieri and Arthur Scargill she decided to impose the Poll Tax; an unpopular and uncollectable tax that provoked the worst rioting in Britain since the eighteenth century and ultimately brought her down. She was the victim of her own dogma.

We are now approaching another disaster. The Tories are determined to break away from Europe in order to stop immigration.
Unfortunately, the leaders of the European Union are just as dogmatic as our politicians and they are insisting on free movement of labour. Switzerland voted by referendum to limit immigration but they have been unable to close their borders because of the same EU directive. This impasse must be resolved.

Adolf Hitler ignored his generals, Mao ignored his commissars, Maggie ignored her cabinet colleagues, and Theresa May will probably ignore the governor of the Bank of England and the leaders of trade and industry. It's not too late for her to change direction. As a Vicar's daughter she should remember the quotation from Jeremiah: “Hear now this, O foolish people, and without understanding; which have eyes, and see not; which have ears, and hear not.”

Bill Clinton was not dogmatic. When he was Governor of Arkansas he introduced a fuel tax to pay for the state’s roads. This was very unpopular and his political advisors told him that it would cost him the governorship. He immediately went on radio and television to admit that he had made a mistake. He abolished the tax and promised not to do it again. His constituents forgave him  and he never forgot the value of an apology. Years later he used the same tactic over the Monica Lewinski affair.

But Hillary was not so flexible. She clung to her liberal dogma and lost the presidential race to Donald Trump, a billionaire businessman who poses as a man of the people.

There's no time for debate: The EU must become a federal superstate right now

by Pinchas Goldshmidt Chief Rabbi of Moscow and president of the Conference of European Rabbis.

I am grateful to Martin Webster for drawing my attention to this article from The Daily Telegraph. The Rabbi is in favour of the European Union but many Jews see it as a nest of anti-Semitism. They include the late Jimmy Goldsmith, his son Zac, Melanie Phillips, and the media mogul Richard Desmond.

Among the terrorists who perpetrated the Brussels attacks were individuals known to the Turkish authorities and subject to an international warrant issued in France following the November attacks. Although it is impossible to know the details, we must question why this didn't alert the Belgian security services to this terrorist nest in their capital.

Clearly, Europe has in-built inefficiencies within its existing structure. The bureaucracy in Belgium, together with communication barriers, limit the Belgian government's ability to protect its citizens. Where some bilateral security cooperation agreements work smoothly (take USA/UK as an example), as soon as information whirls within European bureaucracy, it seems to lose direction and relevant authorities do not act.

Brussels, as the capital of Europe, is both a cause and the symptom of the systems that are in place across the continent. It many ways it can be considered a cause, as it was originally chosen as a neutral, non-competitive base for centralised Europe. The symptom of this is that the comfortable lifestyle and accessibility of the metropolis has led to slow-paced decision making. This has meant the European leadership and central services always appear a stride behind those who seek to undermine them.

Europe is suddenly in the midst of the two biggest challenges of its recent history; terrorism and mass immigration. For it to remain successful, the European Union must reinvent itself and leverage its member states in at least three areas: security; immigration; and integration of refugees and crisis decision making.

But readers have to be realistic. We have learned from bitter experience that a "one size fits all" approach does not work. Europe today is structured around three distinct circles. The outer circle is comprised of the member states of the Council of Europe, which amounts to no more than an assembly of countries nominally ascribing to common principles and values, not unlike the UN.

The middle circle of Europe is defined by the countries which belong to the EU but did not join the eurozone, and have consequently kept their borders closed to the Schengen Area. Their commitment to a united Europe is limited and prone to reconsideration, as the referendum in the UK on June 23 proves.

The inner circle of Europe is defined by the eurozone and the Schengen Area. The countries are totally reliant on each other (particularly the relationship between France and Germany) and they must change to secure their future. They need to create an anti-terrorist task force which will be accountable to the European Commission and coordinate the war against Islamic terror. A similar task force will have to protect its outer borders and rein in the waves of millions of immigrants from the Middle East, Africa and Asia flooding Europe and threatening the future of the European continent.

This inner circle will have to create both the effective leadership and decision making mechanisms which will transform it into a formidable force preserving the values of the European continent as we know them today.

Europe in 2016 can be likened to the 19th century United States of America, which lacked a central army and government, rendering it totally ineffective and vulnerable to the forces threatening its fledgling independence. Only the creation of a federal army and a unified, legitimate presidency in the Capital ensured the construction and development of the USA as we know it.

As the events of the past two years - the euro crisis in Greece, terrorism in France and Belgium, and the refugee crisis in Germany and its neighbouring countries - have shown, the inner circle of Europe is often pulled down by the weakest link in its membership. Allowing the inner circle nations to centralise their key systems means Europe can be more robust in the way it deals with crises.

If the status quo does not change radically then we are in real danger of allowing the EU to become a failed experiment, confined to the annuls of history. We simply cannot tolerate further examples of fellow members of the Schengen Area being ignored, without border control this leaves us all vulnerable.

There is no time for debate. The situation is urgent and this is the only way that the French and the German governments can step up their own security, the security of the smaller member states, and ultimately guarantee Europe's future.

What is Nationalism?

Most people in the UK associate 'nationalism' with the Scottish Nationalist Party, Plaid Cymru or Sinn Fein. They want independence for their respective regions but the British National Party, and its many rivals, stand for British nationalism. In 2009 the BNP boasted more than fifty
councillors, two MEPs and a member of the London Assembly. Recently, their last remaining councillor, Brian Parker of Pendle, temporarily resigned from the party following a misunderstanding about the party's finances.

British nationalists embrace England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland. Some of them even accept Canadians, Australians, New Zealanders and South Africans. They have extended their patriotism to include half the world but they object to European unity.

Nationalism can be based on nationality, race, language, or religion. Ukip are civic nationalists who regard anyone born in the UK as British; the Nazis were racial nationalists who only accepted ethnic Germans; Plaid Cymru are linguistic nationalists who seek Welsh independence; and the Israelis welcome immigrants from all over the world providing they consider themselves to be Jewish. In practice these qualifications are flexible and interchangeable but the idea of nationality persists.

Nationalists imagine a world divided into sovereign states
with their own flags and armies. But nation states, particularly ones with nationalistic governments, tend to attack each other to gain territorial or commercial advantage. Their proposed patchwork of petty states is exactly what produced the devastating conflicts of the nineteenth and twentieth centuries.

In 1940 Winston Churchill proposed a union of Britain and France to defeat Germany. Both countries fought bravely but it was the United States; a union of 50 states, and the Soviet Union; a federation of 15 states that had the resources and manpower necessary to ensure victory. The era of little states has passed and it cannot be recalled by nostalgia.

Russia and Europe

Many people believe that the Russians relied on American tanks during World War Two. This is far from the truth. Armaments, including large numbers of Sherman M4 tanks were delivered to the USSR by Arctic Convoys but the Red Army’s main battle tank was the formidable T34. The German invasion overwhelmed Russia's defences and destroyed much of their industry but Joseph Stalin moved his factories hundreds of kilometres to the east, beyond the range of German guns, and Soviet workers achieved record levels of production. By 1945 they had produced over 50,000 T34s.

Anti-Soviet propaganda devised by Joseph Goebbels in Berlin and copied by the West during the Cold War is now being used against Putin’s Russia. They try to present Russia as a backward nation but such a nation couldn’t produce great composers like Khachaturian, Prokofiev, Rachmaninoff, Stravinsky, and Tchaikovsky; writers like Pushkin, Gogol, Dostoyevsky, Tolstoy, Turgenev, and Chekov; or scientists like Sergei Korolev who designed the rockets that are still putting men into space.

The Russian Federation has rebuilt her armed forces and is taking the lead in the Middle East. Russia's
relationship with Turkey has improved and her economy has survived American trade sanctions and the drop in oil prices. Europe's hostile reaction to Russia's repossession of the Crimean peninsula was prompted by Nato but even the Ukrainians are coming to terms with it.

British Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson is blindly following American foreign policy over Syria. His condemnation of Russia is hypocritical. Britain is supplying arms and military assistance to Saudi Arabia which is using bombing and starvation in the Yemen. His  outburst came only a week after Britain and the US bombed Syrian forces fighting IS terrorists. And he is now trying to organise a "no fly zone" which could start a war with Russia.

The referendum was a setback but we are nevertheless moving towards a continental system that will eventually include Britain and Russia. Donald Trump has indicated that America's commitment to Europe will not last forever and the proximity of Russian gas and oil to German industry will be decisive. The evolution of Europe that started with Charlemagne will inevitably unite our continent from the Atlantic to the Urals. But first we must drop the myths and prejudices of the past.

The Frankfurt School

The Frankfurt School was a group of Marxist academics who set out to change the world in 1923. The far-right blame them for the tolerant views of most young people. They think that people are naturally race-conscious and only adopt liberal attitudes as the result of left wing propaganda. But it's just as likely that people are naturally liberal and only become race conscious as a result of right wing propaganda.

There's nothing wrong with being aware of one's race and culture but discrimination is unfair. Organisations like 'Black Lives Matter' and the 'Black Policeman's Association' are blatantly racist. All lives matter and the Policeman's Union is for all officers white and black.

The mass migration of cheap labour into Europe and North America is the result of capitalist greed not Marxism. A few students might have absorbed left wing propaganda at university but most people have never heard of Karl Marx.

The Frankfurt School is part of an alleged Jewish plot that
embraces racial integration, global warming, fluoridation, sexual promiscuity, and recreational drug taking. The far-right have created a conspiracy theory that  appeals to a deluded minority. But the majority of people put it in the same category as flying saucers and the Loch Ness Monster.

Dr Yaqub Zaki (James Dickie) on Nation Revisited # 118

I was at school with Alfie Primrose. He was my school chum. The family lived modestly in a smuggler's cottage at Inverkip, a village near to where I live. His mother did not approve of our friendship because I was only middle class. I'm pretty sure that it was the Rothschild money that got his grandfather (Archibald Primrose the Earl of Rosebery married to Hannah Rothschild) into No 10 in the 1890s as Liberal Prime Minister.

Similarly the Sasoons (Sybil is my friend; we go to concerts of Islamic music together). The Sasoons took over the opium trade from the Scots (Jardine Mathesons). Likewise in the States. The Delanos were opium smugglers. FDR never once alluded to the source of the wealth that got him into the White House. Liberals are the most dangerous species of all. You may be sure it was the Jews in league with the Liberals in Parliament who got Burton dismissed as consul in Damascus. he wrote a book about a ritual murder in Damascus. Only half the MS was published; the other half was purchased by the Board of Deputies at a book auction to prevent it being published; it is still in their possession.

Nation Revisited # 121 November 2016

The Problem of Power

Theresa May said at the Tory Party conference in Birmingham that she would use the power of government to “restore fairness” in Britain and spread prosperity more widely. This is an unusual thing for a Tory to say; they usually pretend to be libertarians who are suspicous of the State. In fact, every modern government has used taxation to redistribute wealth and regulations to control business.

Benito Mussolini believed that the State was supreme, and that individualism was selfish and destructive. He harnessed the Socialism of his youth to the patriotism of the First World War to produce Fascism. He built a State sustained by popular enthusiasm but his bold experiment was destroyed by World War Two. He tried again with the Italian Social Republic but he had left it too late.

The American Libertarians are so anti-State that they are practically anarchists. Some of them are formed into armed bands that regard the federal government as “the enemy.” They think that state provided medical care is “creeping communism” and begrudge paying taxes. Margaret Thatcher shared some of their beliefs when she said: “there is no such thing as society.”

P-J Proudhon went even further in his dislike of government, he wrote in General Idea of the Revolution in the Nineteenth Century:

"To be Governed is to be watched, inspected, spied upon, directed, law-driven, numbered, regulated, enrolled, indoctrinated, preached at, controlled, checked, estimated, valued, censured, commanded, by creatures who have neither the right nor the wisdom nor the virtue to do so. To be Governed is to be at every operation, at every transaction noted, registered, counted, taxed, stamped, measured, numbered, assessed, licensed, authorized, admonished, prevented, forbidden, reformed, corrected, punished. It is under the pretext of public utility, and in the name of the general interest, to be placed under contribution, drilled, fleeced, exploited, monopolized, extorted from, squeezed, hoaxed, robbed; then, at the slightest resistance, the first word of complaint, to be repressed, fined, vilified, harassed, hunted down, abused, clubbed, disarmed, bound, choked, imprisoned, judged, condemned, shot, deported, sacrificed, sold, betrayed; and to crown all, mocked, ridiculed, derided, outraged, dishonoured, That is government; that is justice; that is morality."

Oswald Mosley in his 1955 pamphlet “Government of Tomorrow: the Problem of Power,” tried to strike a balance between authoritarianism and libertarianism:

"There is a fundamental distinction between the abuse of power to infringe individual liberty and the use of power to implement the people's will; yet abuse and use are often confused. The old liberal clichés concerning the corruption of power can be extended from a just indictment of tyranny to a thesis so unreasonable that it causes the paralysis of the state; all power, even for the most beneficial ends can become suspect."

He was right to insist on an independent judiciary and a fixed parliament but his proposed system of occupational representation now seems dated. Since the decline of mining and manufacturing people are no longer defined by their jobs. They were proud of being shipbuilders or steel workers but no one is proud of being a burger flipper or a call centre operator.

The Supreme Soviet of the Soviet Union was based on trade union representation but the whole system was controlled by the Communist Party. The Party was the State, just as it was in National Socialist Germany. Both systems relied heavily on surveillance and sacrificed individual liberty for security.

The enemies of good government are corruption and dictatorship. China is afflicted with both vices but their booming economy has brought prosperity to the masses. There are rumbles of discontent in Hong Kong and Xinxiang but most Chinese are much better off than their parents. Their police and local councillors may be on the take but they are too busy making money to worry about it.

Every revolutionary from Vladimir Lenin to Margaret Thatcher has tried to overcome the problem of power but without success. At least Oswald Mosley outlined a representative system with built-in safeguards. Before the Second World War he advocated a Government with the power to tackle unemployment and inequality. After the war he still believed in strong government but stressed the importance of the rule of law:

“The ideas of those who think as we do have certainly developed greatly since the war. They have, also, changed where past errors can be recognised. A man who lives a lifetime without changing any opinion has learned nothing, and a man who lives a lifetime without learning anything is simply a fool. We leave it to the gentlemen responsible for the present condition of the world the comfortable belief that they have made no past mistakes from which to learn.”

Why Polish Communities have always been undervalued - even more so post-Brexit - Prince John Zylinski

This article is from The New European - theneweuropean.co.uk

Nigel Farage used mob tactics to hijack the vote on the UK referendum to leave or remain in the European Union.

Of all the politicians I've seen in my lifetime, he is the one that's changed the country the most, apart from Margaret Thatcher and Winston Churchill.

Farage has turned Ukip into Frankenstein's monster - he's done the traditional thing when you want a revolution to happen, he reached out to the mob.

After joining Ukip in 2006 he changed the way the party worked and started focusing on migrants - claiming they're changing the face of the country, that they are only here to get benefits, to steal English jobs and cause traffic jams.

I wrote to him recently, asking his view on the Poles that are here. He wrote back to me and attached a signed photograph of himself, which is now proudly decorating my toilet.

His great achievement is that he used the mob to win the referendum vote and Hitler did the same thing with the Nazis. I'm not saying Farage is Hitler, but what Farage did was find a gap in the political spectrum which was filled by nobody, especially by Labour. They were perceived as having failed their own constituents, their own traditional Labour voters who they were not standing up for. Labour lost touch with the working class so Nigel Farage and Ukip went straight into that gap and the results were sensational.

When the Brexit vote was announced, newcomers to the UK were horrified, scared and upset. A lot of migrants felt severely unappreciated, as without certain groups, like the Poles, the country would be 20% worse off.

Polish people have contributed massively to the economic state of the UK. Without them so many places would close - hospitals, banks, Starbucks, they would all go if these people weren't here.

One firm of accountants that I know has 2,000 customers and a large proportion of them are Polish. On the morning of the result they had 1,000 calls before lunch, from people who were so distressed, confused, horrified. It was a huge slap to the face. It was like they were told to F-off, we don't want you here, you're not welcome, leave.

Well this is all going to change now as I'm standing up for the Poles, which no one has ever done before. My father led a cavalry charge against the Nazis and this is my cavalry charge. To say what first-generation Poles would never had dared say - that we're grateful to be here but you should be grateful to have us too. Poles are hard-working and pax taxes, and in return all we get is a proverbial kick in the balls.

Another issue I'm not happy about is that there have been too many incidents of racist abuse since Brexit. One shocking event involved an eight-year-old schoolgirl, who was told to "F-off back to Poland" by a classmate. Eight-year -olds are doing this to each other - where do they get it from, their parents?

Another horrific incident happened in a school, in an area where there was a very large Ukip vote. They all voted Leave and a 10 year-old Polish boy was beaten up by 20 English youngsters who ganged up on him.

In my opinion there appears to be double standards at work here. For example if you're gay, you can go to the police and report a hate crime with no material evidence, and the police will take it seriously. On the other hand if you're Polish and white I don't think the police are giving us enough protection.

I'd also like to set the record straight regarding Polish immigrants coming into the country with criminal records. The fact is that most of them don't commit any further crimes because they have no need to. They're thankful they can go straight into a stable job with a proper wage and not be paid a pittance.

The truth is that Poles that have criminal records in their own country become perfect model citizens over here. What's not to like? Statistics prove that crime rates regarding migrants have been going down successively for the last five years.

What people tend to forget is that migrants in the UK contribute £2 billion in taxes a year. Yes, they use hospitals and schools but they bring in more than they take out.

The Polish community has had enough of being mistreated and this is partly why I'm setting up this organisation, 'Polish Heroes' - which is spearheading the attempt to really deal with these issues post-Brexit.

Polish Heroes is a charity - that will convey how fantastic Polish people are and have been to the UK. They were heroes during the war, they helped Britain in the Battle of Britain and through their work since the war.

It's been 70 years of outstanding hard graft, they work 60-70 hours a week and their work rate is second to none compared to English people and it has always been like that, ever since the 1950s, when the first wave of Poles came in after the war.

I've been brought up on stories where Poles would be working in factories and told "you must not work that hard, otherwise we'll be out of a job," I believe that they do not get the credit they deserve for the significant contribution they make to this great country.

In my opinion Poles should not be knocked or criticised because they're terrific people, hence the name of the charity, Polish Heroes. We're setting up advice centres, where they'll be able to get legal advice.

We need to go out to English society much more with our message. Another very important example which I'm encouraging poles to do, involving hundreds of people, is at our Polish shops. I want a Polish member of staff to go outside the shop with a tray, offering Polish food free of charge.

One thing that also needs to change is Polish people's view on politics. Poles don't vote, they don't get involved, even in polling. Election attendance is very low but particularly over here where people feel in a sense it's foreign country. However, many have been here ten years, they've been paying their taxes, they've got strong feelings about things and I think they're realising that. They've got to vote no matter what because otherwise people like Nigel Farage and Ukip will eat them alive!

Other foreign communities have a voice, they've got councillors and so on. We've worked hard and kept our heads down, but that's totally not enough. Despite working extremely long hours every week, if you haven't got people in the media and in politics, this will be twisted against you -we're "stealing English jobs."

This is why we need a public presence and we need a public voice because otherwise other people's stereotype narratives take over.

The truth of it is, we helped save the country in the Battle of Britain, we've been helping it since the war and we will continue to do so.

Prince John Zylinski is a London-born Polish aristocrat who stood as an independent candidate in the 2016 London Mayoral Election. In 2015 he challenged Nigel Farage to a duel of swords.

Myngath - David Myatt

The lifelong spiritual quest of David Myatt has finally ended. The former leader of the National Socialist Movement in the UK was born in Tanzania in 1950 and died in Egypt in 2016. He was brought up as a Catholic but converted to Islam for many years before adopting a philosophy he called “The Numinous Way”. His book A Practical Guide to the Aryan Revolution inspired terrorists throughout the world including the nail bomber David Copeland. David Myatt never did anything by halves. As a Catholic he spent time in a monastery and studied Greek and Latin. While exploring Oriental mysticism he learned Sanskrit and became proficient in martial arts, and when he became a Muslim he mastered Arabic and adopted their culture. His autobiography Myngath paints a convincing picture of a man who suffered his share of tragedies and was genuinely sorry for his mistakes.

“Although – on joining the NF and BM – I was very naive about politics, something of a tabula rasa, I soon developed the same prejudices and the same hatreds as the people I came to associate with; prejudices and hatreds aided by pamphlets and books read, loaned and given, and by discussion with party members, especially those belonging to BM. Thus I came to regard ‘immigrants’ as somewhat uncivilized, certainly inferior to White people, and considered their removal from ‘our land’, our country, as a necessity. Before this, I had no opinions about such matters, and my understanding of National-Socialism was greatly aided and developed by personal discussions with, and by written correspondence I had with Colin Jordan.

During this formative period, I subscribed to items such as The Thunderbolt newspaper published by Edward R Fields and so regularly received anti-Jewish and anti-Black reports; reports that seemed to confirm the necessity of racial separation and the need for a final solution to ‘the Jewish problem’. For I had, in common with nearly all BM members, and many NF members, come to believe that the Jews in England, as in many other Western lands, had too much power and too much influence, were somehow by nature badly disposed towards White people, and thus were our mortal enemies.

In practice these beliefs and prejudices, this racism, meant three obvious things, and one interesting and curious thing, at least it is curious and interesting to me, now on reflection. The three things are:

1) That I developed a very idealized, a very romanticised, view of the native love for those I regarded as my own people, my own race – especially in respect of English people; regarding them as probably the most civilized people on Earth who had built the best, the most noble, Empire the world had ever seen, and who had ‘civilized’ or brought civilization to large parts of the world.

2) That I developed a prejudice and antagonism towards other races in general and in particular against ‘Blacks’ and Jews, and thus, as a group, and politically, hated them and did not wish to associate with them.

3) That I regarded violence in pursuit of my beliefs as natural and necessary, and came to regard political enemies – such as ‘Reds’ – as legitimate targets for political violence.

The one interesting and curious thing is:

That despite my racism, my Nazi beliefs and ideals, my political activism, I was not personally offensive to or prejudiced or violent toward or hated individuals of other races that I met, including Jews.”

Dedicated Nationalists and National Socialists may dismiss David Myatt as a traitor and many religious people will doubt his sincerity but few of us go through life without changing our minds and we are all influenced by people and events.

The author makes use of poetry and snatches of Greek that mean nothing to me. But Myngath is beautifully written and well worth reading. It is available from Amazon.

Ideas and Suggestions

Feedback is always welcome. Last month one reader thought that my articles on nationalist history were fascinating and another wrote that they are "unreadable and uninteresting." Some time ago a reader suggested that I must be homosexual because I never comment adversely on them. And another came to the same conclusion about Freemasonry. Whenever I mention Adolf Hitler I get irate messages in the Fuhrer's defence and when I mention God I am contacted by Odinists pointing me towards Valhalla.

For the record I have no interest in buggery, thuggery, secret societies, Wagnerian mysticism, funny money, conspiracies, head measuring, fluoridation, Morris dancing, levitation, historical re-enactment, or martial arts.

But I am interested in politics, and I am convinced after a lifetime of observation that almost everything is driven by economics. The invention of the shipping container is more responsible for globalism than the Bilderbergers. And mass migration is all about cheap labour; it has nothing to do with a sinister Jewish plot to destroy the white race.

A few years ago I was privileged to hear a speech given by Bob Wilkinson, a former Blackshirt who was then in his nineties. He said that nothing had changed since the thirties when the capitalists started exporting jobs and importing cheap goods and labour at the expense of the British worker. And he went on to say that we were right then as we are now to fight for justice. It was a remarkable speech by an old comrade who knew what he was talking about.

Unfortunately most political commentators do not know what they are talking about and that includes the racists. There's no doubt that the peoples of the northern hemisphere have contributed the most to human progress but the idea that a Master Race founded every great civilisation is a bit far-fetched.

Similarly, Christianity certainly came from the Middle East but it has been part of our culture for almost two thousand years. We owe the great art, music, poetry and architecture of Europe to our Christian heritage. A typical example is the beautiful language of The Apostle's Creed imposed by Charlemagne in the Middle Ages.

I believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth: and in Jesus Christ his only Son our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead and buried. He descended into Hell, the third day he rose from the dead. He ascended into Heaven, and sitteth on the right hand of God the Father Almighty, from thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead. I believe in the Holy Ghost, the Holy Catholic Church, the Communion of Saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen

We will not overcome the demographic and ecological challenges of the twenty-first century by adopting the morals and manners of the Vikings. They are remembered as rapists and arsonists who terrified Europe but their Norman cousins are remembered for their castles and cathedrals, and their Saxon cousins for their learning and wisdom; the essential
difference was Christianity.

Nevertheless, I value my readers, of all persuasions, and welcome their ideas and suggestions.
